Does anyone know how Michael Tappin passed? He was president, I think, of the Student Council. When a liberal English teacher left, the school was up in arms and we had a rally in the auditorium, and he spoke very levelheadedly. Does anyone remember that? I just wondered what happened to him. I was saddened by the news.

Hi Marguerite:
Mike and I hung around in high school and for a while in college. I lost track of him after I went into the Army. I had been trying to track him down recently and thought he may have passed, but wasn’t sure. As fate had it, I met an old college friend several weeks ago who was in charge of the photography department at Northeastern Ill. University. I mentioned Mike since I knew he had been a staff photographer for Northeastern. Long story short, he told me that Mike unfortunately passed away several years ago from cancer.
