To: Gary Hartmann- Yes, Gary, Russ and I still ride the trains for fun on occasion. Like you, I took early retirement from 3M/Lanier/Ricoh in 2006. I am now a Licensed Home Inspector, and also take care of our 6 rental properties. We live in Bolingbrook, Il, daughter is getting married Sept 19,2009. Happy 2011, as the clock ticks to the 45th!…Those interested in getting a feel how Amundsen is today can do so by going to youtube to see the student videos…Some of what’s there is rough and tumble if not coarse–just like life…Think of how it would have been if we had youtube in the 60′s….or maybe not! Your Amundsen High School Alumni Association is inviting you to an All-Class Reunion Fundraiser, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Roald Amundsen’s discovery of the South Pole. Through the generous support of the Amundsen High School Faculty, and the volunteer efforts of alumni and current student body, this event will be a guaranteed success. Proceeds will be used towards funding the sports and fine arts programs not currently being funded by the Board of Education. This includes purchasing sports equipment, art supplies, music, instruments, etc.
Place: Amundsen High school
Date: Saturday, May 19, 2012
Time: 2:30-7:30 p.m.
Dinner: Buffet 4:30-6:30 p.m. (chicken or vegetarian)
Music: For your enjoyment
Ticket: $50 per person
REGISTRATION: Registration tables may be accessed through Door #3, off of Damen Ave., or Door #7, off of the West Parking lot (handicapped accessible parking). Note that both entrances are handicapped accessible. Students from Amundsen’s National Honor Society, will be available to meet and greet you at the door, then escort you to the festivities.
PARKING: We recommend that you carpool or take public transportation/taxi, as parking will be limited. The two parking lots are; South parking lot off of Damen Ave. and the West parking lot accessible from Foster Ave. Please indicate on your registration form if you require a handicapped parking space.
AMUNDSEN ARTIFACTS: You can assist in bringing a special meaning to this reunion by donating non-returnable items for display; school jackets, sweaters, pins, yearbooks, Amundsen logs, dance bids, school pennants, gym/sports uniforms, programs, etc. We welcome any memorabilia that you are willing to donate. Photos will be most welcome-be sure to list the date and a brief history on the back of your picture. We want to preserve the history of Amundsen!!
