ON SEPT 19, 2009, MY DAUGHTER, LAURA MARRIED BRIAN KASTER. THEY MET WHILE ATTENDING MARQUETTE U. THEY NOW RESIDE IN MIAMI, OHIO, WHERE BRIAN TEACHES AT MIAMI U, WHILE WORKING ON HIS MASTERS DEGREE. LAURA DOES FREELANCE PUBLIC RELATIONS AND ADVERTISING WORK FROM HOME.

A letter to share with you from JaNelle (written just before the reunion):
Hi Bonnie,
This sounds like a wonderful weekend, you have done an incredible job, and I had hoped to attend the party on Friday night. I will not be able to. I started a small professional theater company last fall when my youngest child began college. This summer has been my first big season. I am producing 6 shows. My 5th just closed on Sunday (the only one in which I appeared) and my last is coming up very quickly. My cast is flying in from NYC very soon and my husband and I are doing promos this weekend. I’m so sorry I cannot attend. I do not presume many people will care but I will give you a short synopsis of my life over the past 40yrs. and my address/tele #.
I attended U of I Champaign/Urbana. Pledged Pi Beta Phi graduated BA in vocal performance 1973. Masters in education Chicago State University 1974.
Married Michael Mathieson 1975 he was an Alpha Delta Phi from U of I. CPA with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. We divorced in 1982
My first job was as an air traffic control specialist at the Chicago Center (the air route center just outside of Chicago). I finished the first two phases of training but my then fiancé thought it was not a lifestyle for us and I agreed so I left the FAA a year later.
I worked as an elementary teacher in the city and suburbs of Chicago for 4 yrs.
I went back to acting in 1979 and shortly after joined the cast of “Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?” .
I met and got to know John R. Powers, the playwright. He is also a 4 time bestselling author and has 2 Emmy awards for writing. We married and have 2 daughters Jacey Elizabeth Powers (1986) and Joy Victoria Powers (1990)
We moved from Hinsdale to Lake Geneva, WI in 1989.
My oldest, Jacey, graduated in 2008 from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (CAP 21 studio) and lives in NYC.
My youngest, Joy, is entering her sophomore year at Millikin University majoring in musical theater.
John and I split our time between Lake Geneva and Sand Key, FL (a small key off Clearwater Beach).
I am a two time breast cancer survivor (1990, 1993). Thank God.
When I was diagnosed the second time and survived I felt there should be a reason, so much of my time is spent in volunteer work.
John and I enjoy boating and I like to garden.
